The button
allows you to draw lines. These lines represent bars or edges of a surface (slab, plate, wall). A cross-section can be assigned to a line afterwards . There are two ways to define a line:
- Either using a mouse
Note that drawing lines from scratch is only possible in a 2D view. In a 3D view you can only draw lines between existing points or snap to certain places on existing lines (like the mid point or perpendicular)- Click on the button
. - Click once for the starting point.
- Navigate the mouse to the end point and click once more.You can easily draw lines under 0°, 45° or 90° by holding the SHIFT-key while navigating.You can also rely on the coordinates that appear at the bottom of the information bar.
- Once the end point of the line is set, you may start a new line by immediately indicating the next point (the starting point of the new line is then equal to the end point of the previous line).
If you press ENTER or the right mouse button, you can start drawing somewhere else in the model.
When you navitage the mouse near an existing line, the intelligent cursor will become active. Detecting the nearest point, perpendicular point, nearest point and intersection point of the line.

- Deactivate the drawing function with the button
or by pressing ESC.
- Click on the button
- Either using coordinates
- Click on the button
. - In the information bar, Diamonds will ask you the coordinates of the first point.
Depending on the current view, write two coordinates (2D view) or three coordinates (3D view) separated by “;”.

- Hit ENTER.
- Now the information bar will ask you the coordinates of the second point.
Enter them the same way as the first point.
To define relative coordinates, start the coordinates with an ‘@’-sign.

- Deactivate the drawing function with the button
or by pressing ESC.
- Click on the button
Note:
- If you want the distances to be shown next to the cursor when you draw, go to the menu ‘Options – Preferences …’ and check the appropriate option in the ‘Drawing’ tab (see Drawing parameters).
