To export a Diamonds model to a DXF-file:
- Go to the menu ‘File – Export to DXF’. The following dialogue appears:
- What do you want to export?
- There are five exportable types of elements. Diamonds allows you to export linear elements (axes of bars) as well as surface elements. It is also possible to export contours of profiles and slabs as well as isolines of reinforcement quantities. You can attribute a specific name to each of the 5 categories. If you use this possibility, these elements will be exported in separate layers.
- In order to increase readability of your exported models, Diamonds saves each design type defined in Diamonds, as a layer.
Since a Diamonds model only contains the axislines, not the edge lines fo the cross-section, Diamonds allows you to assign specific names to each layer exported to the DXF-file.
A single element in Diamonds, can result in 4 layers in the DXF-file. In this case, the name of the type will be preceded by the name given to the layer.
If you want to generate a single layer for each design type, leave all the fields blank. - Moreover, if your initial model includes several levels, you can also subdivide each type (or each layer if you have already generated a number of them starting from a single and the same element type) per level. In such case, the name of the level will also be added to the name of the layer so that you can easily find it in your drawing software. Of course, if you decide to use all the possibilities, you will generate a DXF file composed of many layers.
- When you export the reinforcement isolines, each isoline is exported in a different layer. Specific colours are assigned to isolines corresponding to the same type of results: Axs, Axi, Azs or Azi.
- Elements
Indicate if you want to export all elements or just the visible or selected ones. - Length unit
Impose the units of the DXF file. - Axes
Given that not all CAD software programs use the same convention of axes, you can also indicate which standard you want to use.
