Displaying internal forces in bars

To visualize the results for the internal forces in bars, click  and select the chosen partial result from these options:

  • Representation of normal forces in the bars.
  • Representation of the shear force along the local axis z’ of the profile (following the flexion around the axis y’).
  • Representation of the shear force along the local axis y’ of the profile (following the flexion around the axis z’).
  • Representation of bending moments around the axis y’.
  • Representation of bending moments around the axis z’.
  • Representation of the torsion moments.

Notes:

  • The shear forces and bending moments are always shown according to the local coordinate system of the bars. For double symmetrical cross-sections, the local y’- and z’-axis correspond to the strong and weak axis respectively.
  • The sign conventions are listed in this article.
