Extrude

Extrusion consists in drawing a line in a given direction starting from a given point.

To extrude one (or multiple) points:

• Select the points from which you want to extrude.
  You may also select lines. Then the extrusion will be applied to the end points of the line(s).
• Click on .
  The following dialogue appears:

• You have to choose between:
  • Distance
    All the selected points are extended over the same distance.
    You can enter the distance or indicate the extrusion vector graphically in the drawing area (while the dialogue window is open).
  • To a plane
    All the selected points are extended to a reference plane in the global coordinate system.
    You can enter the coordinate of the plane or indicate the extrusion vector graphially in the drawing area (while the dialogue window is open).

Example: you entered a roof and want to generate the columns. Since the roof as an inclined shape, it’s better to extrude to a plane instead of a fixed distance.
