To mirror ( a part of) the structure:
- Select the relevant elements.
- Click on
.
The following dialogue appears:
- Point 1 & Point 2
If you start the mirror-function when you were working in a 2D view, you’ll see “Point 1” and “Point 2”. These two point describe the mirror axis.
Either you enter the coordinates manually or you indicate the mirror axis graphically in the drawing area (while this dialogue is open). Diamonds will automatically copy paste the coordinates of the selected point into the dialogue. - Delete source
Indicate if the source should be deleted or not.
Notes:
- If you were working in a 3D view when you started the mirror-function, you’ll have to enter 3 points defining a symmetry plane.
- If loads were defined on the source structure:
- Loads defined according to the global coordinate system, will keep their sence and direction in relation to the global coordinate system once the structure is mirrored.
- Loads defined according to the local coordinate system, will be mirrored in accordance to the local coordinate system of the elements they were assigned to.
