In the “Results-configuration”
, the reactions are represented according to global coordinate system. While in a detailed result
, the reactions are represented according to the local coordinate system of the plate.
Mean & total reaction in a support line
For line supports (or cut lines in a supported plate), you can visualize the total value as well as the average value of a reaction:
- Select the relevant result from the buttons above.
- Double-click the support line (or cut line). The following dialogue will appear:
- You can obtain the average reaction by dividing the total reaction exerted by a selected support line by its length. The total reaction equals the sum of reactions of different support points at different mesh points. The reaction of the support points in a point that belongs to two support lines will be taken into consideration only for a half during the evaluation of the total reaction (generated by a single support line).
To request the total value for multiple support lines (or cut lines in a supported plate), select the relevant support lines and open the Results table
.
- When you ask the results table
for one support line, the results table will contain the total value for the selected combination.
- When you select multiple support lines, the results table will contain a total value:
- for each support line individually
- for all support lines together

The distributed reaction forces generated by the support lines are expressed in kN/m or an equivalent. The reaction forces generated by a soil profile are expressed in N/mm² or an equivalent.
