Intersect

To use the intersection-function:

  • Select the relevant elements.
  • Click on .
    The following dialogue appears:
  • Choose one of these options:
    • Intersection lines
This option finds the intersection points between the selected lines.
    • Intersection lines and plates with reference plane
This options finds the intersection points between th selected lines/ surfaces and a given plane according to the global coordinate system.
    • Keep only intersection points
This option finds the intersection points between the selected lines. Deletes the lines but keeps the intersection points.
This option is often used in combination with a DXF-file import. CAD-software doesn’t allow you to draw a point. So the position of a column is generally indicated by a cross. When you import the DXF-file into Diamonds, you need the centre of the cross, not the crosslines themselves. Well, this function will erase the cross-lines but keep the centre point.
