Model representation

The calculation model is represented graphically in the model window. In addition to the shape of the structure, you will also find information about the profiles, the support points, any hinges that may be present, etc.

It is certainly useful to take a moment to consider the various visualisation options that can be set using the three icons on the toolbar:

  • The icon allows you to select a vertical view of the calculation model.
Use this view when you start th definition of your model. Some functions, such as the drawing functions, only work in the vertical view.
  • You can select a 3D perspective view by using the icon .
Use this view to show the calculation results, for example.
  • In both display modes, you can switch to a “rendered” image of your calculation model (filled profiles with shadows) using the icon . Please note:
    • To use this function effectively, you must first perform a design with 1•2•Build so that a section is assigned to the bars of the calculation model (in steel, concrete or timber).
    • This display mode is only available if the “Geometry” section of the icon palette is selected.
