The button 
allows you to define which internal forces can be transferred at the bar ends to the rest of the structure:
- Select the relevant bars and click on the button . The dialogue below appears:
- Select the relevant icon and hit ‘OK’:
no hinges (default setting): node (joint) between two bars is stiff. Normal force, shears force and bending moment can be transferred from the bar to the other via de node.
hinge at the beginning: at the beginning of the bar no bending moment can be transferred from one bar to the other.
hinge at the end: at the end of the bar no bending moment can be transferred from one bar to the other.- hinges at the begin and end: at the begin and end of the bar no moment can be transferred van one bar to the other.
