Import & Export

To import data from other programs or export data to other programs, select the ‘Import’ or ‘Export’ command from the ‘Archive’ menu. In the dialogue box that appears, you can select the file format you wish to use at the bottom.

Import and export of DXF files

DXF files contain information about drawings that is understood by most CAD programs.

  • Two-dimensional DXF files can be imported into 1•2•Build via the menu ‘File > Import …‘. CAD programs often work with layers. If necessary, you can limit the import to only some of the layers used by the CAD program.
  • You can export a 1•2•Build file to a DXF via the menu ‘File > Export …‘. During export, the geometry of the structure is transferred, without support points, profiles, etc.

Export to PowerFrame

Via the menu ‘File > Export …’, 1•2•Build files can be exported as PowerFrame files.

PowerFrame was the big brother of 1•2•Build. Whereas 1•2•Build only works in 2D, PowerFrame could calculate 3D structures. PowerFrame has since been replaced by Diamonds. However, PowerFrame files can be loaded into Diamonds without any problems.
