The last two icons in the “Graphs” section of the icon palette relate to the resistance and stability checks for steel and timber bars. You can view the results of the resistance check via the icon
, and those of the buckling check via the icon
. In both cases, the results are expressed as percentages. A value of 100% corresponds to the maximum limit value for the bar.
If you are dimensioning timber or steel bars, 1•2•Build determines the most optimal cross-section within a family specified by you. This choice is made so that the values for resistance and stability checks for all bars are as close as possible to the target value of 100%.
However, if you choose the cross-sections yourself, it is obvious that the above checks will produce values greater than 100%. A skull symbol
is drawn next to all bars for which the target value of 100% is exceeded.
