Is there a Diamonds viewer?

Contents

Yes. Workflow

A Diamonds files consists of the following files:

  • A *.bsf file containing the loads and geometry
  • A *.bs! file containing a back-up of the loads and geometry
  • A *.bsr file containing the mesh
  • A *_bsr folder containing the results

The provider of the model should:

  • Make a zip of the following: *.bsf file, *.bsr file, *_bsr folder. The *.bs! is not necessary.
You can use 7-zip for this (free ware).
  • Send the zip to the viewer.
You can use WeTransfer for this.

The viewer of the model should:

  • Download and install Diamonds.
Make sure you and the provider of the model are using the same Diamonds version!
You can check the version in Diamonds by going to Help > About. Here it is version 2018.
  • Download and unzip the model.
  • Start Diamonds and open the model.
Since you have no license, the software will start in demo. That’s OK. The demo version allows to see the results, but you won’t be able to (re)calculate the model.
