On installing a new Tekla Structures version, you do not see the BuildSoft ribbon or the BuildSoft menu in the Applications & Components panel. Even after running the BIM Expert installer again.
This is a known issue for Tekla Structures 2018.
Solution
- Uninstall BIM Expert and its plugins completely
- Install BIM Expert and Tekla plugin again
Good to know
You can verify if the BIM Expert Tekla plugin is correctly installed for this TS version:
- Go to the installation folder of Tekla Structures. Normally this is
C:\Program Files\Tekla Structures\{latest version}\nt\bin\plugins - You should see a folder named ‘BuildSoft’
OR
- Open BIM Expert
- Go to
File > Settings > Tekla Structures Analysis & Design - The radiobutton for the TS version of your choice is available and not greyed out.
