Buildsoft programs (especially Diamonds, ConCrete and PowerConnect) request printer properties at start up or when being enlarged. When the communication regarding those properties is too slow, because:
- it’s a network printer
- the printer is not online
- Windows determines the default printer automatically (= the default setting in Windows 11)
the Buildosft programs won’t start, will get stuck, will block, will crash or will show an error message.
The solution is to define a local printer (such as PDFCreator, Microsoft to PDF, CutePdf, …) as default printer. The workflow to do this, can be found on the Microsoft support website (EN, FR, NL).
