With the button 
you can design elements in timber.
- Using the first tab page ‘Cross-section library’, you can choose a cross-section from the library.
- Using the second tab page ‘Rectangular cross-section’, 1•2•Build will try to find the optimal section within defined limits for width and height. He will also take the imposed maximum (elastic!) defection into account.
You must specify the timber quality and the modification factor kmod.
You can deviate anytime from the proposal that 1•2•Build has made. You can, for example:
- Select the relevant bar(s).
- Restart the design by clicking on .
- Select a specific cross-section from the library or define a rectangular cross-section with fixed dimensions.
- Hit ‘OK’. 1•2•Build will perform the design again for the cross-section you’ve chosen.
Your choice of cross-sections will only be applied to the bars you selected before starting the design! For all bars that were NOT selected, the previous cross-section choice will be maintained.
