Restart CodeMeter Service

Depending on whether your machine has Diamonds, PowerConnect or BIM Expert installed, the restart of CodeMeter service involves different steps.

Computer has Diamonds, PowerConnect or BIM Expert installed

It is not possible to restart the CodeMeter Service in one go, as the CodeMeter Service is dependent on Gateway and Gateway Server Service.

  1. Close all Diamonds/ PowerConnect/ BIM Expert projects.
  2. Open Task Manager (CTRL +  ALT +  DEL or right mouse click on the Windows bar). Go to the tab page “Details”.
  3. Sort the list alphabetically by clicking on the column header “Name“.
  4. Find BuildSoft.Gateway.exe in the list. If you cannot find it, skip this step.
    Select it and hit End Task.
    BuildSoft.Gateway.exe will disappear from the list.
  5. Find BuildSoft.Gateway.Server.exe in the list. If you cannot find it, skip this step.
    Select it and hit End Task.
    BuildSoft.Gateway.Server.exe will disappear from the list.
  6. Find BuildSoftServer.exe in the list. If you cannot find it, skip this step.
    Select it and hit End Task.
    BuildSoftServer.exe will disappear from the list.
  7. Find CodeMeterCC.exe in the list.
    Select it and hit End Task.
    CodeMeterCC.exe will disappear from the list.
  8. Find CodeMeter.exe in the list.
    Select it and hit End Task.
    CodeMeter.exe will disappear from the list.
  9. Via Windows Search bar, search for the ‘CodeMeter Control Center‘ app
  10. In case the app does not start the CodeMeter Service automatically, click ‘Process’ > ‘Start CodeMeter Service’.

Computer has only CodeMeter, ConCrete or 12Build installed

  1. Close all ConCrete/12Build projects.
  2. Via Windows Search bar, search for the ‘CodeMeter Control Center‘ app
  3. Click ‘Process’ > ‘Restart CodeMeter Service’
  1. Click ‘Yes’ to continue
