Preparation in Tekla Structural Designer<br \/><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The conversion is based on the .cxl file format. The .cxl file format is an XML based neutral file format that allows applications to link with Tekla Structural Designer. Tekla Structural Designer accepts and produces files in the .cxl neutral file format.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"li step stepexpand\"><span class=\"ph cmd\">Create the model as usual. <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li step stepexpand\"><span class=\"ph cmd\">On the <span class=\"ph uicontrol\">BIM Integration<\/span> tab, click <span class=\"ph uicontrol\">Autodesk Revit Export<\/span>. <\/span>The <span class=\"ph\"><span class=\"ph uicontrol\">BIM Integration<\/span> wizard<\/span> opens.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li step stepexpand\"><span class=\"ph cmd\">Adjust the location and rotation of the model, and click <span class=\"ph uicontrol\"> &#8216;Next&#8217;<\/span>. <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li step stepexpand\"><span class=\"ph cmd\">Select the items that are included in the model, and click <span class=\"ph uicontrol\"> &#8216;Next&#8217;<\/span>. <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li step stepexpand\"><span class=\"ph cmd\">Specify the export names of material grades, and click <span class=\"ph uicontrol\"> &#8216;Next&#8217;<\/span>. <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li step stepexpand\"><span class=\"ph cmd\">Specify the file name and location. <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li step stepexpand\"><span class=\"ph cmd\">Select whether the file is exported for the first time, or whether you want to update an existing model. <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li step stepexpand\"><span class=\"ph cmd\">Click &#8216;<span class=\"ph uicontrol\">Finish&#8217;<\/span>. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><script src=\"moz-extension:\/\/ccccaaeb-013b-4b99-be98-cffa5aa77072\/js\/app.js\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<div id=\"ConnectiveDocSignExtentionInstalled\" data-extension-version=\"1.0.4\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 id=\"1-preparation-in-revit\"><strong>2. Next, choose &#8216;CXL&#8217;. If there is no match found, a default section and material will be applied. Next, choose the destination software, namely Autodesk Revit. Choose &#8216;R Document&#8217; and then search for a match in the pull down list. If no suited match can be found, you can choose &#8216;Create New&#8217; of select it from a &#8216;Library&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>For I, H, RHS, CHS, L, C. U, rectangular and circular cross-section, BIM Expert will create a new family symbol (cross-section) for you. If you cannot find a suited match, you can choose &#8216;Create New&#8217;.
