\nThe cloud license file is activated on the computer of each user.<\/p>\nThis way of working requires no (to little) effort of your IT manager, but holds a risk: each computer on which the cloud license was activated, will have access to the license. If an employee activates the license on his personal computer and then leaves the company, he will still be able to use that cloud license.<\/li>\n
- Option 2<\/strong>: centralized license activation – server & server access (LAN\/VPN) required
\nThe cloud license file is activated on a server. By sharing the cloud license in the network, users can access it.<\/p>\nThis way of working requires more effort of your IT manager, but holds no risks: only the computers connected to the network will have access to the license.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n \t\t
\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t\t\r\n \t\t\t\t\tIn larger companies with lots of users we recommend option 2: meaning one person (e.g. IT manager, department manager) is responsible for activating the cloud license. Otherwise, the users can pass down the license to anybody, outside the control of the license owner<\/span><\/span><\/span>. \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n \t\t\t \t\t\t\r\n \t\t<\/div>\r\n \t\t\n
Activating the license<\/h2>\n
Option 1<\/h3>\n

- Download<\/a> and install Codemeter Control Center (= program for the license management) – if not yet present.<\/li>\n
- Save the license file (140-xxxxxxxx.wbc) on your desktop.<\/li>\n
- Open CodeMeter Control Center (Start > CodeMeter > CodeMeter Control Center)<\/li>\n
- Import this file in the CodeMeter Control Center via ‘File’- ‘Import License…’.
\nYou could also drag and drop the file to the CodeMeter Control Center.<\/li>\n- Wait until you get the message that the import was successful.<\/li>\n
- Delete the file from your desktop.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
There is no limit on the number of cloud license activations. The number of users who can work simultaneously, is determined the number of BuildSoft licenses in the cloud license file.<\/p>\n
Option 2<\/h3>\n
On the license server machine<\/h4>\n

- Download<\/a> and install Codemeter Control Center (= program for the license management) – if not yet present.<\/li>\n
- Save the license file (140-xxxxxxxx.wbc) on your desktop.<\/li>\n
- Open CodeMeter Control Center (Start > CodeMeter > CodeMeter Control Center)<\/li>\n
- Import this file in the CodeMeter Control Center via ‘File’- ‘Import License…’.

\nNote: The numbers of the license dongles plugged into the license server, will never be visible in the CodeMeter Control Center on the client’s side. Only local branched dongles are visible.<\/li>\n- Install the BuildSoft software of your choice.<\/li>\n
- If you want to connect to the license server machine using a VPN-connection, also do the steps below\n

- Open the program Codemeter Control Center on the user’s machine (Start > All Programs > CodeMeter<\/strong>). Click on the button\u00a0Webadmin.\u00a0<\/strong>An internet page will open.

<\/li>\n- On the internet page, go to Configuration > Basic > Server Search List.

\nFor example: 192.0.1.66. Hit Add<\/strong> and then\u00a0Apply<\/strong>.

<\/li>\n- The Server Search List<\/em> will also contains the line\u00a0Automatic server search (255.255.255.255)<\/em>. Remove that line from the Server Search List. This will make the start-up process of our software quicker.
