In practice (if you&rsquo;d consult the Task Manager), its more in the range of 2,6GB maximum. When you exceed this 2,6GB, you get a System.OutOfMemory-error.<\/li>\n<li>BuildsoftServer.exe can be 32 of 64 bit process, depending on our operating system.<br \/>\nMeanging that, in theory (for a 64 bit system), it can take a maximum of 8 GB of RAM memory. When you exceed this limit, you get a System.OutOfMemory-error.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Diamonds.exe and BuildsoftServer.exe exchange data and results with each other. Since the available memory to Diamonds.exe is lower than for\u00a0BuildsoftServer.exe, you need to make sure that the data and results are efficiently as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Note: the maximum amount of RAM a process\u00a0(32 or 64-bit) can request, is determined by Windows. Not by Buildsoft.     \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\r\n    \t\t<\/div><!-- \/.ht-shortcodes-messages -->\r\n    \t\t\n<h2>Solution<\/h2>\n<p>The following advises relate to a\u00a0System.OutOfMemoryException-error during saving or during calculating.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use a 64-bit operating system.<\/li>\n<li>If you don&rsquo;t have much RAM (&lt; 16GB), close RAM-consuming programs.<br \/>\nUsing Taks Manager, you can track which programs take up a lot of memory. For example: a few tab pages of Google Chrome can use up to 2 GB of RAM!<\/li>\n<li>Don&rsquo;t model details (like lines &lt;10cm, small holes for technical shafts, &#8230;). This makes the model &lsquo;heavy&rsquo; and affects the mesh.<\/li>\n<li>Limit the number of &lsquo;Undo&rsquo; steps.<br \/>\nGo to <em>Options<\/em> &gt; <em>Preferences<\/em> &gt; tab page &lsquo;<em>File<\/em>&lsquo;. Set the \u00ab\u00a0<em>Maximum number of &lsquo;undo\/redo&rsquo; operations\u00a0\u00bb<\/em> to 5 or 10.<\/li>\n<li>Turn off the automatic back-up.<br \/>\nGo to\u00a0<em>Options<\/em>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<em>Preferences<\/em>\u00a0&gt; tab page &lsquo;<em>File<\/em>&lsquo;. Uncheck the option \u00ab\u00a0Save a temperary back up file automatically\u00a0\u00bb.<br \/>\nInstead, save the model yourself every 30 min. Make sure not to over do the saving command either, because saving causes a temporarely increase of the used RAM-memory.<\/li>\n<li>Turn off the automatic save.<br \/>\nGo to\u00a0<em>Options<\/em>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<em>Preferences<\/em>\u00a0&gt; tab page &lsquo;<em>File<\/em>&lsquo;. Uncheck the option \u00ab\u00a0Save file automatically\u00a0\u00bb.<\/li>\n<li>Remove unused load groups from the model. Empty load groups take up memory space while not contributing to the the results.<\/li>\n<li>Reduce the number of combinations:\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/buildsoftsupport.com\/knowledge-base\/what-are-linked-load-groups\/\">link load groups<\/a><\/li>\n<li>merge load groups<\/li>\n<li>only create the combinations you really need.<br \/>\nDon&rsquo;t need SLS FC? Don&rsquo;t create those\u00a0combinations.<br \/>\nDon&rsquo;t need the load groups seperately? Don&rsquo;t create those combinations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Choose a <a href=\"https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/knowledge-base\/how-to-pick-the-mesh-size\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">good mesh size<\/a> (default is not always good) and <a href=\"https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/knowledge-base\/how-to-verify-the-used-mesh-size\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">verify the mesh<\/a> size.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>If that doens&rsquo;t solve it: make\u00a0multiple models all containing the same geometry, but a different set of combinations.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During the elastic analysis, you get the error: [NL]: Uitzondering &lsquo;System.OutOfMemoryException&rsquo; [FR]:\u00a0Exception&lsquo;System.OutOfMemoryException&rsquo; [ES]:\u00a0Excepci\u00f3n\u00a0&lsquo;System.OutOfMemoryException&rsquo; Solution The following advises relate to a\u00a0System.OutOfMemoryException-error during saving or during calculating.
