Microsoft will stop releasing updates and patches form that moment on.<br \/>\nUntil October 2025, and probably a certain amount of time after that, our software will still run fine on Windows 10. But we don&rsquo;t know for how long, therefor we recommend getting a Windows 11 system.<\/li>\n<li>We use the software <em>Codemeter <\/em> for our license management.<br \/>\nCodemeter v7.60b is still compatible with Windows 8\/8.1. Therefor, version 2023 of Diamonds\/ PowerConnect\/ BIM Expert is compatible with Windows 8\/8.1, but newer versions aren&rsquo;t.<\/li>\n<li>Diamonds\/ PowerConnect\/ BIM Expert 2023r01 is the last version available in 32 and 64 bit. As from version 2024, only 64-bit is available.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/buildsoftsupport.com\/knowledge-base\/where-can-i-download-codemeter\/\">Codemeter Control Center<\/a> for managing the licenses\n<ul>\n<li>Codemeter 7.21a is the last version compatible with Window 7\/ Windows Server 2008.<\/li>\n<li>Codemeter 7.60b is the last version compatible with Windows 8\/8.1.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you&rsquo;re planning on using a network license, we recommend installing the same Codemeter version on both the server and client computer(s). If there&rsquo;s a lot of difference in the version number, the communication might not work.<br \/>\nIf you install Diamonds\/ PowerConnect\/ BIM Expert and Codemeter is not present, it will be installed together with Diamonds\/ PowerConnect\/ BIM Expert.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/buildsoftsupport.com\/knowledge-base\/where-can-i-download-gateway\/\">Gateway\u00a0<\/a>for managing the databases<br \/>\nIf you install Diamonds\/ PowerConnect\/ BIM Expert and Gateway\u00a0is not present, it will be installed together with Diamonds\/ PowerConnect\/ BIM Expert.<\/li>\n<li>.NET Framework version 2.0 (2.0 is included in .NET Framework <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/download\/details.aspx?id=21\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3.5<\/a>) and <a href=\"https:\/\/dotnet.microsoft.com\/download\/dotnet-framework\/thank-you\/net472-web-installer\">4.7.2<\/a>)<br \/>\nIf you install Diamonds\/ PowerConnect\/ BIM Expert and .NET Framework\u00a0is not present, it will be installed together with Diamonds\/ PowerConnect\/ BIM Expert.<\/li>\n<li>For exchanging models between Diamonds\/ PowerConnect\/ Tekla structures\/ IDEA Statica\/&#8230; using BIM Expert, make sure <a href=\"https:\/\/buildsoftsupport.com\/knowledge-base\/bim-experts-compatibility\/\">the versions of the softwares are compatible<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Hardware (recommended specifics)\n<ul>\n<li>16-32GB RAM (Diamonds &#8211; BIM Expert), 8GB RAM (PowerConnect)<br \/>\nDepending on how many other heavy programs (like AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla Structures, &#8230;) you want to use simultaneously and the size of the models you want to calculate in Diamonds\/ send to BIM Expert. If you can choose, take 32 GB RAM.<\/li>\n<li>SSD (Solid State Drive)<\/li>\n<li>Intel i7\/ i9 processor<\/li>\n<li>NVIDIA graphical card<\/li>\n<li>At Buildsoft we make programs, not applications.<br \/>\nThe use of a mouse is usually desirable. But then you must have the necessary tools to connect it (USB port or Bluetooth).<\/li>\n<li>If you want to work with a physical license dongle <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"img_inline alignnone wp-image-308\" src=\"https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/codemeter_cmstick.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"56\" srcset=\"https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/codemeter_cmstick.png 163w, https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/codemeter_cmstick-50x28.png 50w, https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/codemeter_cmstick-60x33.png 60w, https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/codemeter_cmstick-35x20.png 35w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 100px) 100vw, 100px\" \/>that&rsquo;s plugged directly into your PC, don&rsquo;t forget that this also requires a USB port.<br \/>\nThis physical dongle must remain plugged in while using our software.<br \/>\nThe alternative to a physical license dongle is a cloud license.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When you start a calculation in Diamonds, your computer will not only perform the calculation itself, but it will also allocate RAM memory, store the results and a bunch of other side processes in order to complete a calculation. The speed of the calculation itself is determined by the clock speed of the processor. The speed of the other side processes is determined by the RAM-memory and hard drive. The general advise is that you invest in a good processor (weather it is i7 or i9), good RAM-memory and an SSD-drive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>[ConCrete, 12 Build, PowerFrame, PowerPlate]<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Operating system: MS Windows Vista\/ 7\/ 8\/ 8.1\/ 10\/ 11 (32 or 64 bit)<br \/>\nNote: Windows 7\u00a0has reached its\u00a0<em>End of Life phase<\/em>\u00a0on January 14, 2020.\u00a0Microsoft has stopped releasing\u00a0updates\u00a0and\u00a0patches\u00a0for Windows 7. It&rsquo;s possible (older versions of) ConCrete\/ 12-Build\/ PowerFrame\/ PowerPlate still run fine on Windows 7, but we can no longer guarantee it. If you want to use our software in combination with other operating systems (like MacOS or Linux), you should install a virtual machine (like Parallels) and run Windows in the virtual environment. Contact your IT-service to help you with the installation of the virtual machine.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the use of virtual machines, it is not possible to activate the default Trial-version that comes with the first installation. We recommend installing an older version of Codemeter (like 6.70 which <a href=\"https:\/\/we.tl\/t-UmrbfYssH4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">can be downloaded here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>If you want to install Diamonds 2017 (or more recent) next to it: install Diamonds 2015r06 (or older) with Codemeter 6.70 first. Then run the installer of Diamonds 2017 (or more recent).
