Preparation in SAP2000<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>An IFC file can handle geometry and loads.\u00a0 So, the export can be as complete as you prefer, as long as these items are present in SAP2000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2-send-the-revit-model-to-tekla-structures\"><strong>2. Send the SAP2000 model to IFC<br><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2-1-from-revit-to-bim-expert\">2.1 From SAP2000 to BIM Expert<\/h3>\n\n\nIn the Model tab, select \u2018Export\u2019. Next, choose the destination software manufacturer, namely &lsquo;Computer and Structures, Inc&rsquo; (CSI) . BIM Expert will try to find as many automatic mapping matches as possible. In case all sections and materials find a match, you will not see any dialogs for mapping.\r\n<h4 id=\"2-1-2-material-mapping\">2.2.2 Material mapping<\/h4>\r\nIn a new file, SAP2000 only has 2 materials present: Steel S355 and Concrete 30\/37. Next, choose the destination, namely \u00ab\u00a0IFC&rsquo;.
