{"id":17647,"date":"2025-09-16T12:31:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-16T12:31:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/docs\/12build\/working-environment\/selecting-elements\/"},"modified":"2026-07-08T10:18:39","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T10:18:39","slug":"selecting-elements","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/es\/docs\/12build\/working-environment\/selecting-elements\/","title":{"rendered":"Selecting elements"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">1\u20222\u2022Build always works according to the principle that you first make a selection and then apply a function to this selection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Selecting with the mouse<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Directly<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Click once on the element with the left mouse button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Selected elements are drawn bold.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click somewhere in the drawing area of 1\u20222\u2022Build to cancel the selection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Via selection box<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>If you draw the selection box from <strong>the top left to the bottom right<\/strong>, 1\u20222\u2022Build will select the elements which were completely within the selection box.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you draw the selection box from <strong>the bottom right to the left top<\/strong>, 1\u20222\u2022Build will select the elements which were partially or completely within the selection box.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Selected elements are drawn bold.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click somewhere in the drawing area of 1\u20222\u2022Build to cancel the selection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Selecting additional elements or removing elements from the selection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>To add more elements to the selection: hold the <kbd>SHIFT<\/kbd>-key down and click once on the additional elements. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To remove an element from the selection: hold the <kbd>SHIFT<\/kbd>-key down and click once on the elements you want to remove from the selection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Intelligent cursor<a href=\"https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/docs\/12build\/working-environment\/intelligent-cursor\/#\"><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">1\u20222\u2022Build uses an intelligent cursor. This is a cursor that automatically detects when it is close to, for example, an existing point or an existing bar. The operation of the intelligent cursor can be set in the menu &#8216;<em>Modify &gt; General settings<\/em>&#8216;. In the dialogue box that appears, you can enable the intelligent cursor by ticking <em>Snap to objects<\/em>. The &#8216;<em>snap distance<\/em>&#8216; parameter specifies the maximum distance the cursor can be from an object before snapping to it.
