First add a new computational model to the active project using the icon <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"18\" height=\"18\" class=\"wp-image-17718\" style=\"width: 18px;\" src=\"https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Rekenmodellenbeherenb3.png\" alt=\"\"> in the toolbar. In the new window that appears, then you draw a vertical rod with a length of 3.5 meters and define the supports as shown in the figure below: <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1071\" height=\"724\" src=\"https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17609\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">Add a dead load of 10kN and a live load of 10kN in point 2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">Suppose you want to construct this column with a steel tube profile, then you determine the most optimal section within the profile class B:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-3.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"375\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17610\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">1\u20222\u2022Build solution will give you following proposal:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-4.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1044\" height=\"724\" src=\"https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17612\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">In particular a profile tube with a diameter of 48,3mm and a thickness of 6,3mm. This solution meets all requirements for resistance of the sections and the buckling stability of the column. If desired, this can be checked with the graphs  <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7479\" style=\"width: 30px;\" src=\"https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/KnpoWeerstand.png\" alt=\"\"> and <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7478\" style=\"width: 30px;\" src=\"https:\/\/support.buildsoft.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/KnpoStabiliteit.png\" alt=\"\"> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">Note that the maximum deflection is L\/\u221e amounts.
