Solution

• Copy the file to a different location, like your desktop instead of the server.
• Try again to open it.
  You could also try to open PowerPlate first and then open your file using the icon  in PowerPlate.

• Click on  to do the elastic analysis.
  In the results configuration , you should be able to see for example the internal forces. PowerPlate cannot calculate reinforcement without internal forces. If the internal forces are not visible, go to Solution 2.

Solution 2

It’s possible the analysis remains stuck. The button  remains pressed in and no results are available.

The cause is usually an error in the geometry. For example: a préslab for which the total thickness hx” is imposed, but for which the in situ cast thickness hz” is left to 0. So check all the elements in your model for errors like this.

• Click on  to generate the mesh.

Missing hardware key….  The connection with the server has broken. The maximum number of users or the version or the expire date is insufficient

[NL]: Ontbrekende sleutel … De verbinding met de server is verbroken. Het maximum aantal gebruikers of vervalversie of vervaldatum is ontoereikend.

[FR]: Clef manquante … La connection avec le serveur est arrêtée. Le nombre maximal d’utilisateurs ou la version ou la date d’échéance est dépassé.

This error occurs when:

• you start PowerPlate, PowerFrame, 12Build or Concrete.
  Go to Solution 1.
• you play with the network settings in PowerPlate, PowerFrame, 12Build or Concrete via the menu ‘Help > Network’.
  Go to Solution 2.

Solution 1

You’re probably using Codemeter 8.10.
We are experiencing problems using our software in combination with Codemeter 8.10, resulting in our software not finding a valid licence although there are licenses available. This article describes how to uninstall Codemeter 8.10 and how to access a better version of Codemeter.

Solution 2

You need to:

1. Empty all fields
2. Uncheck the ‘Searching for the hardware key in network’ option
3. Click ‘Ok’ to leave the window

Class not registered

PowerPlate doesn’t start.

Solution

• Uninstall PowerPlate
• Run the installer again with admin rights.

Go to C:\Users\**YourUsername**\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\BuildSoft\PowerPlate. 
The folder AppData is a hidden folder. To show hidden folders, to go View and check the option Hidden items.

About the Preferences

‘Preferences’ are settings that are user dependant. The user can choose what suits him/her best, for example:

• Units and decimals,
• The language
• …

At the first startup of PowerPlate, PowerPlate takes the default values (stored in the Program Files). When you work with PowerPlate, you will customize these settings along the way. These changes are stored in a set of files in the folder C:\Users\**YourUsername**\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\BuildSoft\PowerPlate.

• *.PWP is a file made with PowerPlate Starter
• *.PWN is a file made with PowerPlate Standaard
• *.PP3 is a file made with PowerPlate Master

Solution

1. Close PowerPlate
2. Go to C:\Users\*UserName*\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\BuildSoft\PowerPlate\Starter  
   (Standard for PowerPlate Standard or Master for PowerPlate Master)
3. Open the file PowerPlateS.ini with Notepad
   (PowerPlateN.ini for PowerPlate Standard or PowerPlate3D.ini for PowerPlate Master)
4. Add a line

   CodeMeter=x-xxxxxxx
   

   with ‘x-xxxxxxx’ the number of the preferred Codemeter dongle.

5. Save this file and close Notepad.
6. Start PowerPlate.
   If he still doesn’t find the license: restart the computer and run PowerPlate with administrator rights.

Exception EInOutError in module PowerPlate Standard.exe at 00466AD8. Read beyond end of file.

Solution

1. Close the software
2. Find the location of the ini files
   [Windows XP]
   {local hard drive} C > Program Files> BuildSoft > {name software}
   [Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10]
   {local hard disk} C > Users -> {your username} > AppData > Local > VirtualStore > Program Files > BuildSoft > {name software}
   If the folder ‘AppData’ is not visible:  Go to  ‘Organise’ > ‘Folder and Search options’  >  tab ‘Display’ >check ‘Show hidden folders and files’
   uncheck ‘Hide extensions for known file types’
3. Delete or rename following files
   [PowerPlate Starter]
   PowerPlateS.ini
   PowerPlate3.prf
   [PowerPlate Standard]
   PowerPlateN.ini
   PowerPlate3N.prf
   [PowerPlate Master]
   PowerPlate3D.ini
   PowerPlate3D3.prf
4. Launch the program
