<li>Get a computer with <strong>a Windows operating system</strong>.<br />
MAC users must install a virtual machine (like Parallels or VM Ware) for Windows. In step 4, run the Diamonds installer (*.exe) in the virtualized Windows environment!</li>
<li><strong>Prevent your anti-virus from blocking</strong> the download/installation.
<ul>
<li>Turn off BitDefender, KasperSky, Avast, McAfee, BullGuard until the installation is complete.<br />
In some cases it was required to uninstall BullGuard completely before Diamonds was able to install. You may reinstall BullGuard again when the Diamonds installation is complete.</li>
<li>Norton 360 causes difficulties during the installation of Gateway and the use of Diamonds.<br />
Before installing our software, we recommend uninstall Norting and reinstalling it again once our software is installed.<br />
If you experience trouble during the use of our software and Norton, we recommend turning off the <a href="https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v130571264" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Data Protector of Norton</a>.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Download the Diamonds installer (*.exe) from <a href="https://www.buildsoft.eu/en/downloadtrial">our website</a>.<br />
Registration and log-in are required.</li>
<li>Run the Diamonds installer (*.exe).<br />
Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation of all the required components.<br />
An overview of all the components to be installed (if not present yet):</p>
<ul>
<li>CodeMeter Control Center is the license manager. It will ensure the communication between our software and your license.</li>
<li><a href="http://buildsoftsupport.com/knowledge-base/what-is-gateway/">Gateway</a> is the database manager. It will ensure the communication between our software and the databases.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Start Diamonds.</li>
</ol>

<li>You may delete the folder &#8216;PowerConnect2&#8217; from your computer.</li>
</ul>
<h3>About the Preferences</h3>
<p>‘<strong>Preferences’ </strong>are settings that are user dependant. The user can choose what suits her/him best, for example:</p>
<ul>
<li>Configuration-related settings such as the background color, the color of a point load, whether the supports should be shown, …</li>
<li>Units and decimals,</li>
<li>The language</li>
<li>…</li>
</ul>
<p>At the first startup of PowerConnect, PowerConnect takes the default values (stored in the Program Files). When you work with PowerConnect, you will customize these settings along the way. These changes are stored in a set of files in the folder &#8216;PowerConnect&#8217; in &#8216;My Documents&#8217;. Each version gets its folder.<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-10844" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/PowerconnectPreferences.png" alt="" width="959" height="344" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/PowerconnectPreferences.png 959w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/PowerconnectPreferences-300x108.png 300w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/PowerconnectPreferences-768x275.png 768w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/PowerconnectPreferences-50x18.png 50w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/PowerconnectPreferences-60x22.png 60w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/PowerconnectPreferences-35x13.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 959px) 100vw, 959px" /></p>
<p>The content of this directory is as follows:<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-10845" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/PowerconnectPreferences2.png" alt="" width="959" height="344" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/PowerconnectPreferences2.png 959w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/PowerconnectPreferences2-300x108.png 300w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/PowerconnectPreferences2-768x275.png 768w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/PowerconnectPreferences2-50x18.png 50w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/PowerconnectPreferences2-60x22.png 60w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/PowerconnectPreferences2-35x13.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 959px) 100vw, 959px" /></p>
<p>At every start and shut off of PowerConnect these files are called / completed. However, sometimes something goes wrong in these files causing PowerConnect not to work properly.</p>
