<p>Before installing, you need to decide how the license dongle(s) <img decoding="async" loading="lazy" width="150" height="91" class="img_inline alignnone wp-image-308 size-thumbnail" src="http://buildsoftsupport.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/codemeter_cmstick-150x91.png" alt="" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/codemeter_cmstick-150x91.png 150w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/codemeter_cmstick-35x20.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" /> will be managed:</p>

<ul>
<li>Locally: the license dongle is plugged into the same computer as the one on which the BuildSoft software is used.<br>The installation instructions can be found below.</li>

<li>Over network: the license dongle is plugged into a license server and is thus not plugged into the same computer as the one on which the BuildSoft software is used.<br>The installation instructions <a href="https://support.buildsoft.eu/knowledge-base/how-to-use-codemeter-dongle-as-network-license-dongle/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">can be found here.</a></li>
</ul>

<p>Note: you can install the buildsoft software on multiple computers, even if you only have one license. But to start the software with full functionality, you&#8217;ll need to plug the license dongle in the relevant computer. By consequence, 1 license means 1 user, 2 licenses means 2 simultaneous users, 3 licenses means 3 simultaneous and so on.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Option 1: I have a Windows computer</h2>

<ol>
<li><a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://support.buildsoft.eu/knowledge-base/where-can-i-download-codemeter/" target="_blank">Download</a> and install Codemeter Control Center (= program for the license management).</li>

<li>Install the BuildSoft software of your choice.</li>

<li>Plug the CodeMeter dongle directly into the computer. Don&#8217;t use an USB hub!</li>

<li>Start the BuildSoft software of your choice.</li>
</ol>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Option 2: I have a MAC computer</h2>

<p class="wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-alert">The Buildsoft software only runs on Windows. If you have a Mac computer, you will need a virtual Windows environment (using Parallels, VM-ware, …) in order to run the BuildSoft software.</p>

<li>With <strong>Run network server</strong> check the option <strong>Enable </strong>and hit <strong>Apply.</strong><br>By checking this option, you tell the MAC environment the license may be shared with the Windows environment.<br><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" width="1208" height="593" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-13617" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/EduMac3.png" alt=""></li>

<li>Restart your computer.</li>
</ol>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Do this in the virtualised Windows environment</h3>

<ol>
<li>Install <a href="https://buildsoftsupport.com/knowledge-base/where-can-i-download-codemeter/">CodeMeter Control Center</a>. Codemeter Control Center takes care of the license management.<br>Note: althought the MAC environment shares the license with the Windows environment, you&#8217;ll never see the license appear in CodeMeter Control Center in the Windows environment. That is normal.</li>

<li>Install the desired Buildsoft software.</li>

<li>Restart the Virtual machine.</li>

<li>Start the Buildsoft software. Our software should start with a valid license.</li>

<p>Before installing, you need to decide how the license dongle(s) <img decoding="async" loading="lazy" width="150" height="91" class="img_inline alignnone wp-image-308 size-thumbnail" src="http://buildsoftsupport.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/codemeter_cmstick-150x91.png" alt="" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/codemeter_cmstick-150x91.png 150w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/codemeter_cmstick-35x20.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" /> will be managed:</p>

<ul>
<li>Locally: the license dongle is plugged into the same computer as the one on which the BuildSoft software is used.<br>The installation instructions <a href="http://buildsoftsupport.com/knowledge-base/how-to-use-codemeter-dongle-as-local-license-dongle/">can be found here.</a></li>

<li>Over network: the license dongle is plugged into a license server and is thus not plugged into the same computer as the one on which the BuildSoft software is used.<br>The installation instructions can be found below.</li>
</ul>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">On the license server machine</h2>

<p style="font-size:16px">The license server machine can be any physical computer in the network. This does not necessarily has to be the file server.</p>

<p class="wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-alert">The method below only works on a physical license server machine, not on a virtual server. For the license to work on a virutal server, the physical dongles need to be replaced with a cloud license. Contact the support desk for more information (support@buildsoft.eu).</p>

<ol>
<li><a href="https://support.buildsoft.eu/knowledge-base/where-can-i-download-codemeter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Download</a> and install Codemeter Control Center (= program for the license management).<br>When installing Codemeter Control Center, make sure &#8220;Network Server&#8221; and &#8220;Remote access to WebAdmin&#8221; are checked.<br>You need the first one the share the license with the client computers within the network. You need the second one so that client computers can view the details of the license (expiration date, no. of available licenses, who is using the license).<br><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="alignnone wp-image-29820" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/InstallCodemeter2.png" alt="" width="426" height="331"></li>

<li>Plug the CodeMeter dongle directly in the server. Do not use an USB hub!</li>

<li>Open the program CodeMeter Control Center (<strong>Start &gt; All Programs &gt; CodeMeter</strong>).</li>

<li>Select the dongle from the list and click on the button <strong>Webadmin. </strong>An internet page will open.<br><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="alignnone wp-image-6621 size-full" src="https://buildsoftsupport.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Network1.png" alt="" width="577" height="468" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Network1.png 577w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Network1-300x243.png 300w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Network1-50x41.png 50w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Network1-60x49.png 60w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Network1-35x28.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 577px) 100vw, 577px" /></li>

<li>On the internet page, go to <strong>Configuration &gt; Server &gt; Server Access.<br><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="alignnone wp-image-6619 size-full" src="https://buildsoftsupport.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Netwerk2.png" alt="" width="1666" height="552" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Netwerk2.png 1666w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Netwerk2-300x99.png 300w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Netwerk2-768x254.png 768w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Netwerk2-1024x339.png 1024w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Netwerk2-50x17.png 50w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Netwerk2-60x20.png 60w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Netwerk2-35x12.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 1666px) 100vw, 1666px" /><br></strong></li>

<li>Repeat steps 4 to 6 for any other CodeMeter dongle(s) you have.</li>
</ol>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">On each client machine</h2>

<p style="font-size:16px">You can install the buildsoft software on multiple computers (even if you only have one license). But the amount of computers on which you can run the software, depends on the number of licenses you have. For example: you have installed Diamonds on 3 computers, but only have 2 licenses. Then you can run Diamonds on 2 computers simultaneously.</p>

<ol>
<li>Install <a href="https://we.tl/t-UmrbfYssH4">CodeMeter Control Center</a>.<br>Note: The numbers of the license dongles plugged into the license server, will never be visible in the CodeMeter Control Center on the client&#8217;s side. Only local branched dongles are visible.</li>

<li>Install the BuildSoft software of your choice.</li>

<li>If you want to connect to the license server machine using a VPN-connection, do step 1 from the additional settings below.</li>
</ol>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Additional settings</h2>

<p style="font-size:16px">If the licenses are not automatically picked up by the client with the above method, you could try one of the following solutions.</p>

<ol>
<li>Point the client to the server (required when using a VPN connection)
<ul>
<li>Open the program Codemeter Control Center on the client machine (<strong>Start &gt; All Programs &gt; CodeMeter</strong>).</li>

<li>Click on the button<strong> Webadmin. </strong>An internet page will open.<br><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="alignnone wp-image-6622 size-full" src="https://buildsoftsupport.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Netwerk4.png" alt="" width="577" height="468" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Netwerk4.png 577w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Netwerk4-300x243.png 300w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Netwerk4-50x41.png 50w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Netwerk4-60x49.png 60w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Netwerk4-35x28.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 577px) 100vw, 577px" /></li>
