Alternatively, models can be sent to BIM Expert directly within SAP2000 (Tools &gt; BIM Expert), but you first need to add BIM Expert as a plug-in to SAP2000.

<h4>2.2.1 Settings</h4>
<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="wp-image-9337 aligncenter" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_options.png" alt="" width="396" height="363" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_options.png 620w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_options-300x275.png 300w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_options-50x46.png 50w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_options-60x55.png 60w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_options-35x32.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 396px) 100vw, 396px" />

Select your SAP2000 version, and were the model is coming from:
<ul>
 	<li>A running instance &#8211; that means, the model is currently open in SAP2000</li>
 	<li>An existing model &#8211; click &#8216;Browse&#8230; &#8216; to open your file browser, go to the model location and select the model</li>
</ul>
    		<div class="hts-messages hts-messages--alert  hts-messages--withtitle hts-messages--withicon " id="" style="">
    			<span class="hts-messages__title">License required</span>    			    				<p>
    					A valid SAP2000 license is required in both cases, that is importing from the running instance as well as opening an existing model. </p>

    		</div><!-- /.ht-shortcodes-messages -->

On top of the geometry conversion, you can also consider loads and results in points, bars &amp; plates.  Bar results are the most used and relevant ones, so only considering the bar results is enough. Plate results can be huge amount of data, that is currently not used any further.

Next, the SAP2000 material and sections must be mapped with BIM Expert &#8216;s materials and section. BIM Expert will try to find as many automatic mapping matches as possible. In case all sections and materials find a match, you will not see any dialogs for mapping.
<h4 id="2-1-2-material-mapping">2.2.2 Material mapping</h4>
Database materials such as steel (e.g. S235, ASTM-Grades), concrete (e.g. C25/30, M50) and timber (e.g. C24, D50, GL28c) are mapped automatically. In some cases, the match is not automatically found, because the name differs (<em>S355-link</em> instead of <em>S355</em>). In that case, you can select the correct material from the database.

<em>Tip: When searching an item in the database, type the first letters of the name to find it more quickly.</em>

<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="wp-image-9338 aligncenter" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping.png" alt="" width="720" height="235" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping.png 1115w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-300x98.png 300w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-768x251.png 768w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-1024x334.png 1024w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-50x16.png 50w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-60x20.png 60w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-35x11.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" />
<h4 id="2-1-3-section-mapping">2.1.3 Section mapping</h4>
Database sections (such as I, H, UB, UC, W, C, U, O, ☐ and L sections) are mapped automatically. In some cases, the match is not automatically found, because the name differs  (e.g. name is <em>HEB300 &#8211; S235</em> instead of <em>HEB300</em>). In that case, you can select the correct cross-section from the database.
<em>Tip: When searching an item in the database, type the first letters of the name to find it more quickly.</em>

Parametric sections (e.g. rectangles, circle, trapezium, &#8230;) are not in the database. They should always be added as new.

<h4>2.1.4 Loads mapping</h4>
If you opted to consider the loads during export, the SAP2000 load combinations need to be categorized. Each valid SAP2000 combination must be categorized into Eurocode or American combinations. Use the checkbox &#8216;Use categories according to Limit States&#8217; to switch between European and American combination categories.

<div class="su-row"><div class="su-column su-column-size-3-5"><div class="su-column-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim">

Depending on the design code, you must map each combination with either
<ul>
 	<li>Eurocode Limit States
<ul>
 	<li>ULS &#8211; Ultimate Limit State Combinations: Fundamental (FC), Seismic (SC), Fire (FI) or Accidental (AC)</li>
 	<li>SLS &#8211; Serviceability Limit State Combinations: Rare (RC), Frequent (FC) or Quasi-Permanent (QP)</li>
 	<li>Custom</li>
</ul>
</li>
 	<li>Armerican
<ul>
 	<li>Strength</li>
 	<li>Service</li>
 	<li>Custom</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
On hoovering with the mouse over the combination&#8217;s name, you can see the build up of the combination (e.g. 1.35 DL + 1.50 LL).

Use SHIFT and CTRL commands as in Windows to select one or multiple items. For example, to select all, use &#8216;CTRL+A&#8217; and then, select the &#8220;+&#8221; button in the corresponding column.

Envelope combinations and dynamic seismic combinations are cannot be matched, as this is not supported by BIM Expert. These types of combinations are considered non-valid and will be greyed out. Static seismic combinations can be mapped.

Remark: If you cancel that load mapping dialog, combinations are neglected and the conversion proceeds.
<h4>2.1.5 Reporting</h4>
In case of severe incidences, you get a report of the incidences. It usually concerns load cases or element behavior that are not supported by BIM Expert. Click &#8216;Continue&#8217; to proceed anyway.

<img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="wp-image-9349 aligncenter" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_reportincidences.png" alt="" width="573" height="412" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_reportincidences.png 963w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_reportincidences-300x216.png 300w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_reportincidences-768x552.png 768w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_reportincidences-50x36.png 50w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_reportincidences-60x43.png 60w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_reportincidences-35x25.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 573px) 100vw, 573px" />

<h4>2.2.2 Material mapping</h4>
<p>In case not all materials can be automatically mapped with the Revit document materials, you will see a dialog window to map BIM Expert&#8217;s materials with Revit&#8217;s document materials.</p>
<p>It is good practice to map all incoming BIM Expert materials with Revit document materials.  Choose &#8216;R Document&#8217; and then search for a match in the pull down list. Note that the material should already exist in the Revit material library.</p>
<p>If you cannot find a suited match, you can choose &#8216;Create New&#8217;.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="wp-image-11475 aligncenter" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/bimexpert_exporttorevit_materialmappingpng.png" alt="" width="556" height="435" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/bimexpert_exporttorevit_materialmappingpng.png 880w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/bimexpert_exporttorevit_materialmappingpng-300x235.png 300w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/bimexpert_exporttorevit_materialmappingpng-768x601.png 768w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/bimexpert_exporttorevit_materialmappingpng-50x39.png 50w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/bimexpert_exporttorevit_materialmappingpng-60x47.png 60w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/bimexpert_exporttorevit_materialmappingpng-35x27.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 556px) 100vw, 556px" /></p>
<h4>2.2.2 Section mapping</h4>
<h5>2.2.2.1 Bar sections</h5>
<p>In case not all sections can be automatically mapped with the Revit document sections, you will see a dialog window to map BIM Expert&#8217;s sections with Revit&#8217;s document sections.</p>
<p>It is good practice to map all incoming BIM Expert sections with Revit document sections. Choose &#8216;R Document&#8217; and then search for a match in the pull down list. If no suited match can be found, you can choose &#8216;Create New&#8217; of select it from a &#8216;Library&#8217;.</p>
<p>For I, H, RHS, CHS, L, C. U, rectangular and circular cross-section, BIM Expert will create a new family symbol (cross-section) for you. There is no need to open a Revit library.  If the &#8216;Continue&#8217; button (right bottom corner) is enabled, all sections can be converted and you simply can move forward without any mapping.</p>

<p>On top of the geometry conversion, you can also consider loads and results in points, bars &amp; plates.  Bar results are the most used and relevant ones, so only considering the bar results is enough. Plate results can be huge amount of data, that is currently not used any further.</p>
<p>Next, the SAP2000 material and sections must be mapped with BIM Expert &#8216;s materials and section. BIM Expert will try to find as many automatic mapping matches as possible. In case all sections and materials find a match, you will not see any dialogs for mapping.</p>
<h4 id="2-1-2-material-mapping">2.2.2 Material mapping</h4>
<p>Database materials such as steel (e.g. S235, ASTM-Grades), concrete (e.g. C25/30, M50) and timber (e.g. C24, D50, GL28c) are mapped automatically. In some cases, the match is not automatically found, because the name differs (<em>S355-link</em> instead of <em>S355</em>). In that case, you can select the correct material from the database.</p>

<p>Use the eye button in the &#8216;Show&#8217; column to see a detailed popup window of the connection.</p>
<p>Possible descriptions are</p>
<ul>
<li><em>Some internal forces could not be retrieved from the analysis results</em><br />
No (or not all) internal forces are present from the source software.</li>
<li><em>The connection is identical to connection(s) {IDs} and therefore has been grouped</em><br />
Identical connections will be treated as one connection. You must only calculate the connections one, with envelope forces.</li>
<li><em>Connection merged with one or more parts of the following connection: {ID}</em><br />
The connection is merged with other one to create a more complex connection (e.g. two shear connections to beam-column are merged to design a double-sided shear connection)</li>

A complex connection has been split up into smaller PowerConnect connections</li>
<li><em>The connection bars/plates with following ID&#8217;s could not be recognized: {IDs} </em><br />
The connection is recognized and can be calculated with PowerConnect, execpt for these bars/plates, with given Ids</li>

<p>Select your SAP2000 version, and were the model is coming from:</p>

<li>An existing model &#8211; click &#8216;Browse&#8230; &#8216; to open your file browser, go to the model location and select the model</li>

<p><em>Tip: When searching an item in the database, type the first letters of the name to find it more quickly.</em></p>
<p><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="wp-image-9338 aligncenter" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping.png" alt="" width="720" height="235" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping.png 1115w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-300x98.png 300w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-768x251.png 768w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-1024x334.png 1024w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-50x16.png 50w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-60x20.png 60w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-35x11.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></p>
<h4 id="2-1-3-section-mapping">2.1.3 Section mapping</h4>
<p>Database sections (such as I, H, UB, UC, W, C, U, O, ☐ and L sections) are mapped automatically. In some cases, the match is not automatically found, because the name differs  (e.g. name is <em>HEB300 &#8211; S235</em> instead of <em>HEB300</em>). In that case, you can select the correct cross-section from the database.<br />
<em>Tip: When searching an item in the database, type the first letters of the name to find it more quickly.</em></p>
<p>Parametric sections (e.g. rectangles, circle, trapezium, &#8230;) are not in the database. They should always be added as new.</p>

<h4>2.1.4 Loads mapping</h4>
<p>If you opted to consider the loads during export, the SAP2000 load combinations need to be categorized. Each valid SAP2000 combination must be categorized into Eurocode or American combinations. Use the checkbox &#8216;Use categories according to Limit States&#8217; to switch between European and American combination categories.</p>

<ul>
<li>ULS &#8211; Ultimate Limit State Combinations: Fundamental (FC), Seismic (SC), Fire (FI) or Accidental (AC)</li>

<li>Strength</li>
<li>Service</li>
<li>Custom</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
<p>On hoovering with the mouse over the combination&#8217;s name, you can see the build up of the combination (e.g. 1.35 DL + 1.50 LL).</p>
<p>Use SHIFT and CTRL commands as in Windows to select one or multiple items. For example, to select all, use &#8216;CTRL+A&#8217; and then, select the &#8220;+&#8221; button in the corresponding column.</p>
<p>Envelope combinations and dynamic seismic combinations are cannot be matched, as this is not supported by BIM Expert. These types of combinations are considered non-valid and will be greyed out. Static seismic combinations can be mapped.</p>
<p>Remark: If you cancel that load mapping dialog, combinations are neglected and the conversion proceeds.</p>
<h4>2.1.5 Reporting</h4>
<p>In case of severe incidences, you get a report of the incidences. It usually concerns load cases or element behavior that are not supported by BIM Expert. Click &#8216;Continue&#8217; to proceed anyway.</p>

<p>Choose between model types analysis or physical:</p>
<p><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="wp-image-9154 aligncenter" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_exporttoidea_modelchoice.png" alt="" width="674" height="160" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_exporttoidea_modelchoice.png 964w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_exporttoidea_modelchoice-300x71.png 300w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_exporttoidea_modelchoice-768x182.png 768w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_exporttoidea_modelchoice-50x12.png 50w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_exporttoidea_modelchoice-60x14.png 60w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_exporttoidea_modelchoice-35x8.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 674px) 100vw, 674px" /></p>
<ul>
<li>The <strong>analysis model</strong> will only send independent analytical bars, as defined in the analytical model:
<ul>
<li>When bars are continuous in reality and grouped into a physical group, this is ignored.</li>
<li>Existing connections (e.g. from Tekla Structures, Revit or PowerConnect) are also ignored. Only the analysis members will remain. All physical elements (bolts, welds, connection plates, &#8230; ) will be ignored in the transfer.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>The <strong>physical model</strong> will send physical elements, that is
<ul>
<li>Continuous bars (if properly grouped)</li>
<li>Connections including all physical elements (bolts, welds, connection plates, &#8230; ). Connections are always in the physical model defined.</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
<p>If you choose physical model, it is recommended to opt for &#8216;Use data from analysis model&#8217;, as this will use the load and result information from the analysis model.</p>
<p>It is good practice to check &#8216;Export loads&#8217; and Export results&#8217; unless you want to define the loads again in Idea StatiCa Connection.</p>
<h5>2.2.1.3 Destination</h5>

<h4>2.2.2 Select nodes and connections</h4>
<p>In the next window you get an overview of the model, where nodes and connections can be selected to be transferred. On the left side, &#8216;Connections in Idea StatiCa&#8217; holds a list with all connections to be sent to Idea. The list is empty by default.</p>

<li>Eurocode Limit States
<ul>
<li>ULS &#8211; Ultimate Limit State Combinations: Fundamental (FC), Seismic (SC), Fire (FI) or Accidental (AC)</li>
<li>SLS &#8211; Serviceability Limit State Combinations: Rare (RC), Frequent (FC) or Quasi-Permanent (QP)</li>
<li>Custom</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Armerican
<ul>
<li>Strength</li>
<li>Service</li>
<li>Custom</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>

Click on the button with the 3 dots <img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="img_inline alignnone wp-image-9084 size-full" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_matchmore.png" alt="" width="30" height="24" /> to open Tekla Structures&#8217; section library and search for a match. Tekla Structures&#8217; section library depends on the environment that you have chosen. If no sections at all can be mapped, you might want to restart Tekla Structures with a different environment.</p>
<h4>2.2.3 Preview &amp; creating the model</h4>
<p>The model will now be previewed in Tekla Structures and you get an overview of all new elements, native Tekla Structures elements. You could choose to leave some elements out by unchecking the &#8216;Accept<em>&#8216; </em>box<em>,</em> but in most cases you click &#8216;OK&#8217; here.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="wp-image-9064 aligncenter" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_newparts.png" alt="" width="620" height="286" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_newparts.png 952w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_newparts-300x138.png 300w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_newparts-768x354.png 768w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_newparts-50x23.png 50w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_newparts-60x28.png 60w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_newparts-35x16.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px" /></p>
<h4>2.2.4 Connections and components</h4>
<p>Once the whole model is in Tekla Structures, BIM Expert will start the connection conversion. Whenever possible BIM Expert will convert connections to Tekla Structures components. You will first get an overview of all connections that are recognized as components. When clicking the little eye button <img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="img_inline alignnone wp-image-9083 size-full" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_eye.png" alt="" width="24" height="24" />, you get a pop-up window showing the connections. You could choose to leave some elements out by unchecking the &#8216;Accept<em>&#8216; </em>box<em>,</em> but in most cases you click &#8216;OK&#8217; here.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="wp-image-9061 aligncenter" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_connectionsoverview.png" alt="" width="799" height="285" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_connectionsoverview.png 1677w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_connectionsoverview-300x107.png 300w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_connectionsoverview-768x273.png 768w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_connectionsoverview-1024x365.png 1024w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_connectionsoverview-50x18.png 50w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_connectionsoverview-60x21.png 60w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_connectionsoverview-35x12.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 799px) 100vw, 799px" /></p>
<p>If there are materials of sections to be mapped, they will appear in the next pop-up window. In the column &#8216;Bolt Assemblies Tekla Structures&#8217; you can set a (different) bolt material.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="wp-image-9060 aligncenter" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_boltmatch.png" alt="" width="523" height="284" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_boltmatch.png 1022w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_boltmatch-300x163.png 300w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_boltmatch-768x417.png 768w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_boltmatch-50x27.png 50w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_boltmatch-60x33.png 60w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/bimexpert_totekla_boltmatch-35x19.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 523px) 100vw, 523px" /></p>

<h4>2.2.1 Settings</h4>
<p><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="wp-image-9337 aligncenter" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_options.png" alt="" width="396" height="363" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_options.png 620w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_options-300x275.png 300w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_options-50x46.png 50w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_options-60x55.png 60w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_options-35x32.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 396px) 100vw, 396px" /></p>
<p>Select your SAP2000 version, and were the model is coming from:</p>
<ul>
<li>A running instance &#8211; that means, the model is currently open in SAP2000</li>
<li>An existing model &#8211; click &#8216;Browse&#8230; &#8216; to open your file browser, go to the model location and select the model</li>
</ul>
<p>    		<div class="hts-messages hts-messages--alert  hts-messages--withtitle hts-messages--withicon " id="" style="">
    			<span class="hts-messages__title">License required</span>    			    				<p>

    		</div><!-- /.ht-shortcodes-messages -->
    		</p>
<p><em>Tip: When searching an item in the database, type the first letters of the name to find it more quickly.</em></p>
<p><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="wp-image-9338 aligncenter" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping.png" alt="" width="720" height="235" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping.png 1115w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-300x98.png 300w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-768x251.png 768w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-1024x334.png 1024w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-50x16.png 50w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-60x20.png 60w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_materialmapping-35x11.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></p>
<h4 id="2-1-3-section-mapping">2.1.3 Section mapping</h4>
<p>Database sections (such as I, H, UB, UC, W, C, U, O, ☐ and L sections) are mapped automatically. In some cases, the match is not automatically found, because the name differs  (e.g. name is <em>HEB300 &#8211; S235</em> instead of <em>HEB300</em>). In that case, you can select the correct cross-section from the database.<br />
<em>Tip: When searching an item in the database, type the first letters of the name to find it more quickly.</em></p>
<p>Parametric sections (e.g. rectangles, circle, trapezium, &#8230;) are not in the database. They should always be added as new.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="wp-image-9341 aligncenter" src="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_sectionmapping.png" alt="" width="632" height="337" srcset="https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_sectionmapping.png 1125w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_sectionmapping-300x160.png 300w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_sectionmapping-768x410.png 768w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_sectionmapping-1024x546.png 1024w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_sectionmapping-50x27.png 50w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_sectionmapping-60x32.png 60w, https://support.buildsoft.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/bimexpert_importfromcsi_sap_sectionmapping-35x19.png 35w" sizes="(max-width: 632px) 100vw, 632px" /></p>
<p><div class="su-row"><div class="su-column su-column-size-3-5"><div class="su-column-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim"><br />

<p>Depending on the design code, you must map each combination with either</p>
<ul>
<li>Eurocode Limit States
<ul>
<li>ULS &#8211; Ultimate Limit State Combinations: Fundamental (FC), Seismic (SC), Fire (FI) or Accidental (AC)</li>
<li>SLS &#8211; Serviceability Limit State Combinations: Rare (RC), Frequent (FC) or Quasi-Permanent (QP)</li>
<li>Custom</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Armerican
<ul>
<li>Strength</li>
<li>Service</li>
<li>Custom</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>

<p><em>Tip: When searching an item in the database, type the first letters of the name to find it more quickly.</em></p>

<p>Database sections (such as I, H, UB, UC, W, C, U, O, ☐ and L sections) are mapped automatically. <li>Strength</li>
<li>Service</li>
<li>Custom</li>

</li>
</ul>
